Welcome to RiteSelect (“we,” “our,” or “us”). RiteSelect operates RiteSelect.com, a multivendor e-commerce marketplace that connects buyers with independent sellers, vendors, and merchants (collectively, “Vendors”) from around the world.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit or use our platform, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). It applies to all users of the Platform, including buyers, Vendors, and visitors.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using RiteSelect, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, please discontinue use of the Platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Platform, and information from third-party sources.
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account Registration: Full name, email address, username, password, and date of birth.
Profile Information: Profile photo, bio, contact preferences, and business name (for Vendors).
Payment & Billing: Credit/debit card details, billing address, bank account information, and PayPal or other payment method credentials. Payment data is processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processors.
Shipping Information: Delivery name, address, city, state/province, postal code, and country.
Vendor Onboarding: Business registration details, tax identification numbers (e.g., EIN, VAT ID), government-issued ID (for identity verification), and business license information.
Communications: Messages sent through our internal messaging system, emails, support tickets, and any feedback or reviews you submit.
User-Generated Content: Product listings, photos, videos, ratings, reviews, and Q&A responses.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device & Technical Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
Usage Data: Pages visited, search queries, items viewed, cart contents, order history, click-through paths, session duration, and referring URLs.
Location Data: Approximate location derived from IP address. With your permission, precise GPS location (e.g., for local delivery options).
Cookies & Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies. See Section 9 (Cookies Policy) for details.
Transaction Data: Purchase amounts, transaction dates, payment method type, and order status.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
Social Login Providers: If you sign in via Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider.
Payment Processors: Transaction confirmation, fraud signals, and payment method details from Stripe, PayPal, or other partners.
Identity Verification Services: Results of identity and business verification checks conducted by our KYC/AML partners.
Advertising Partners: Aggregate audience data and ad interaction signals to help us serve relevant advertisements.
Public Sources: Publicly available business information used to verify Vendor credentials.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes, relying on the legal bases described below (where applicable under local law):
3.1 To Provide and Operate the Platform
Create and manage your account.
Process orders, payments, and refunds.
Facilitate transactions between buyers and Vendors.
Provide order tracking and delivery updates.
Enable buyer-Vendor communications.
3.2 To Personalize Your Experience
Display personalized product recommendations based on browsing and purchase history.
Tailor search results and homepage content to your preferences.
Remember your cart, wishlist, and saved settings.
3.3 To Improve and Develop the Platform
Analyze usage patterns and Platform performance.
Conduct research, testing, and product development.
Train internal algorithms to improve search relevance and recommendation accuracy.
3.4 To Communicate With You
Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, receipts).
Send service announcements and policy change notifications.
Send marketing communications where you have opted in or where permitted by law.
Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
3.5 For Safety, Security, and Legal Compliance
Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities.
Verify the identity of Vendors and ensure compliance with our Vendor Agreement.
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, tax obligations, and legal process.
Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.
Protect the rights, property, and safety of RiteSelect, our users, and the public.
3.6 For Advertising and Analytics
Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
Serve targeted advertisements on the Platform and third-party sites (subject to your consent where required).
Share aggregated, de-identified analytics with Vendors about their storefront performance.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the circumstances described below.
4.1 With Vendors
When you place an order, we share your shipping name, delivery address, and order details with the relevant Vendor(s) so they can fulfill your purchase. Vendors are contractually required to handle your information only for fulfillment purposes and in compliance with applicable law.
4.2 With Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party companies to perform services on our behalf, including:
Payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal)
Shipping and logistics partners
Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
Customer support software
Identity verification and fraud prevention providers
Email and SMS communication platforms
Analytics and business intelligence tools
These providers access only the data necessary to perform their services and are bound by data processing agreements.
4.3 With Advertising Partners
Subject to your consent preferences and applicable law, we may share hashed identifiers, browsing signals, or aggregated audience segments with advertising partners to serve you relevant ads on and off the Platform. We do not share your name, email, or payment information with advertisers.
4.4 Business Transfers
If RiteSelect is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Platform before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4.5 Legal Obligations
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a legal obligation; (b) protect and defend our rights or property; (c) prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing; or (d) protect the safety of users or the public.
4.6 With Your Consent

5. Vendor-Specific Privacy Provisions
If you register as a Vendor on RiteSelect, the following additional provisions apply:
Business Information Visibility: Your store name, business description, product listings, and aggregate seller ratings are publicly visible on the Platform.
Financial Reporting: We collect and may report your earnings, refunds, and transaction history to comply with tax reporting obligations (e.g., IRS Form 1099-K in the United States or equivalent in other jurisdictions).
Identity Verification: We are required to verify your identity and business legitimacy to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. This may involve sharing your information with third-party verification services.
Buyer Data Restrictions: You acknowledge that buyer personal data shared with you for order fulfillment may not be used for any other purpose, including marketing, without the buyer’s explicit consent.
Storefront Analytics: We provide you with aggregated analytics about your storefront, including page views, conversion rates, and search impressions. This data does not identify individual buyers.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including:
Account Data: Retained for the life of your account plus 3 years after account closure.
Transaction Records: Retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax recordkeeping obligations.
Communications: Support tickets and internal messages retained for 2 years.
Legal Hold: Data subject to a litigation hold or regulatory investigation will be retained until the matter is resolved.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Where deletion is not immediately possible (e.g., data stored in backup archives), we securely isolate and protect the data from further processing.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
7.1 Rights for All Users
Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing privacy@riteselect.com.
7.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
Right to Know: Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to exceptions).
Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell personal information. You may opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising via our Cookie Preferences center.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: Limit our use of sensitive personal information to necessary business purposes.

7.3 EEA, UK, and Swiss Residents (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or applicable national law, including:
Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Right to restrict processing in certain circumstances.
Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal bases for processing include: contract performance (to fulfill your orders), legal obligation (tax and regulatory compliance), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, Platform improvement), and consent (marketing communications, certain cookies).
We transfer data outside the EEA using Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
7.4 Canadian Residents (PIPEDA/Quebec Law 25)
Canadian residents may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal information and may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
8. Children's Privacy
The RiteSelect Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area and the UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child, we will promptly delete it.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform and deliver a better user experience. The categories of cookies we use include:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for the Platform to function (e.g., session authentication, shopping cart). These cannot be disabled.
Performance & Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the Platform (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar). Disabled by default in regions requiring consent.
Functional Cookies: Remember your preferences such as language, currency, and saved searches.
Targeting & Advertising Cookies: Used to serve relevant advertisements on the Platform and third-party sites (e.g., Meta Pixel, Google Ads). Require your consent in applicable jurisdictions.
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by clicking “Cookie Settings” in the footer of our website. You may also configure your browser to block cookies; however, this may impair certain Platform features.
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Vendor accounts and internal systems.

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information using commercially acceptable means, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
11. International Data Transfers
RiteSelect is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and potentially other countries where our service providers operate.
We ensure that any cross-border transfer of personal data is carried out in compliance with applicable law, using safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or binding corporate rules where required.
12. Third-Party Links and Vendor Storefronts
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and Vendor storefronts that operate independently of RiteSelect. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information. This Policy applies only to information collected by RiteSelect.
13. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. Because there is no industry-wide standard for responding to DNT signals, the RiteSelect Platform does not currently respond to them. You may opt out of tracking-based advertising through our Cookie Preferences center.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:
Post the updated Policy on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.
Notify registered users via email and/or a prominent banner on the Platform.
Where required by law, obtain your renewed consent before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
