RiteSelect.com Prohibited Products Policy

1. Introduction
RiteSelect.com ("we," "us," or "our") provides a platform for third-party vendors ("Vendors") to sell physical and digital products. To ensure a safe, legal, and trustworthy marketplace for our users, we prohibit the listing and sale of certain products. This Prohibited Products Policy outlines items that are not permitted on the RiteSelect platform.
By using RiteSelect.com as a Vendor, you agree to comply with this policy, our Terms and Conditions, and all applicable laws and regulations. It is your responsibility as a Vendor to understand and adhere to these rules. Violation of this policy may result in immediate removal of listings, suspension of vendor privileges, termination of your account, and legal action if necessary.
2. General Principles
The following categories are strictly prohibited. This list is not exhaustive, and RiteSelect reserves the right to remove any product listing at its sole discretion that it determines to be inappropriate, unsafe, or that poses a risk to the platform, its users, or the public.
3. Detailed List of Prohibited Products
A. Illegal, Restricted, and Regulated Items
· Illegal Drugs and Paraphernalia: Narcotics, recreational drugs, controlled substances, psychoactive plants, chemicals intended for human consumption to cause a high, and equipment for making or using illegal drugs.
· Alcohol and Tobacco: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and related accessories. (Note: This may vary by jurisdiction, but as a general platform rule, they are prohibited).
· Prescription Drugs and Medical Devices: Pharmaceuticals requiring a prescription, medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, surgical instruments), or any product making unapproved health claims.
· Hazardous Materials: Explosives, fireworks, chemicals, fuels, toxic substances, and radioactive materials.
· Weapons and Armaments: Firearms, ammunition, firearm parts, silencers, explosives, knives classified as weapons (e.g., switchblades, brass knuckles), martial arts weapons, and other dangerous devices.
· Stolen Goods: Any item that you do not have the legal right to sell.
· Government and Law Enforcement Items: Official badges, uniforms, IDs, or other items that could be used to impersonate a government official.
B. Offensive and Harmful Content
· Hate Speech: Products that promote, incite, or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnic origin, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation.
· Pornography and Sexually Explicit Material: Obscene content, pornography, and sexually explicit products or digital content.
· Products from Protected Species: Items made from endangered or protected animals and plants, such as ivory, tortoise shell, whale bone, rhinoceros horn, or certain exotic skins. This includes products non-compliant with the CITES treaty.
C. Intellectual Property and Counterfeit Goods
· Counterfeit Products: Replicas or imitations of branded products intended to deceive buyers (e.g., "knock-off" luxury goods, pirated software, bootleg recordings).
· Unauthorized Copies: Sale of digital products (software, eBooks, music, courses) without explicit permission from the copyright holder.
· Products that Infringe on IP: Items that violate third-party copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights.
D. Safety and Product Safety
· Recalled Items: Products that have been recalled by a government agency or manufacturer.
· Unsafe or Defective Items: Products that pose an unreasonable risk of injury or illness to consumers.
· Baby and Child Products that do not meet safety standards: (e.g., certain cribs, car seats, toys that are known to be hazardous).
E. Other Restricted Items
· Human Parts and Remains: Organs, body parts, bones, etc.
· Spy Equipment: Devices designed for the unauthorized interception of communications (e.g., wiretaps, hidden cameras sold for spying purposes).
· Gambling Equipment: Slot machines, lottery tickets, or other devices used for illegal gambling.
· Multi-level Marketing (MLM) and Pyramid Scheme Products.
· Products that facilitate illegal activity: For example, hacking tools, fake diplomas, passports, or IDs.
· Live Animals.
4. Digital Product Restrictions
In addition to the above, the following are prohibited for digital products:
· Malware, spyware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage computer systems.
· Databases of personal information collected without consent (e.g., email lists for spamming).
· Academic materials that facilitate plagiarism (e.g., selling pre-written essays).
· Digital products that are fraudulently represented (e.g., an "eBook" that contains no valuable content).
5. Vendor Responsibilities
· Know the Law: You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations applicable to the products you list, including international trade laws, age restrictions, and labeling requirements.
· Accurate Listings: You must describe your items accurately and truthfully. Do not use misleading titles, tags, or descriptions to circumvent this policy.
· Age-Restricted Items: If you are permitted to sell an item with an age restriction (e.g., certain knives, mature content digital art), you are responsible for implementing a robust age verification process.
6. Enforcement
RiteSelect uses a combination of automated systems and human review to monitor the marketplace. If we identify a prohibited item:
1. The listing will be immediately removed.
2. We will notify the Vendor of the violation.
3. Depending on the severity of the violation, we may:
· Issue a warning.
· Temporarily suspend the Vendor's account.
· Permanently terminate the Vendor's account.
· Withhold funds related to the prohibited item.
· Cooperate with law enforcement if the activity is illegal.
7. Reporting Prohibited Listings
If you see a product on RiteSelect.com that you believe violates this policy, please report it immediately using our reporting tools on the product page or by contacting us at compliance@riteselect.com.
